LinkTogether For Good is a global focus for Link Group to create positive local impact. By unifying our CSR efforts globally around key partners who share the LinkTogether For Good ethos of enhancing education for the disadvantaged and vulnerable, Link Group is excited about strengthening our impact.
Link Group believes that education is crucial to improving communities and building a sustainable future. Our CSR strategy, LinkTogether For Good, focuses on providing education support to the disadvantaged and vulnerable in the communities we operate in, through national partnerships in several of our key regions.
Through these key partnerships Link Group hopes to create opportunities for our employees to positively engage with the communities we operate in, in a meaningful way. We are excited to support these organisations in the communities we operate in through LinkTogether For Good in Australia, United Kingdom, Ireland and India.
Link Group is excited to partner with Ardoch and drive positive impact across the education sphere as Ardoch’s first corporate National Strategic Partner.
One in three children in Australia’s most disadvantaged communities start school developmentally vulnerable and they continue to fall behind as they progress through school. Ardoch seeks to change this.
Ardoch is a children’s education charity focused on improving educational outcomes for children and young people in disadvantaged communities. Their vision is to become Australia’s most impactful education partner supporting children in disadvantaged communities.
Ardoch’s mission is that every child’s potential should be realised through full participation in education. This belief inspires Ardoch to increase engagement in education, build aspirations and enhance learning outcomes of children in disadvantaged communities. Ardoch mobilises community and workplace volunteers to support schools and early childhood services, and advocates for and seeks to influence policy change to reduce inequity in education.
Link Group will be supporting students facing disadvantage through Literacy Buddies® and Numeracy Buddies – Ardoch’s workplace volunteering programs supporting upper primary aged students.
About Young Enterprise
Young Enterprise (YE) reaches over 220,000 young people aged 5-18+ across the UK every year. Their financial capability and entrepreneurship education programmes help young people learn the vital skills needed to earn and look after their money. They help develop an enterprising mindset and make a valuable contribution to their communities and wider society.
To tackle stagnating social mobility and prepare young people for work, YE’s No Time Like the Future (NTLTF) strategy focuses on creating one million opportunities for young people to gain the skills they need to thrive in the future by 2023.
YE acts now to help young people navigate successful pathways to opportunity. This is even more important to address the disproportionately negative impact COVID-19 will have on a generation of young people.
Our donation to YE will support their existing student programmes, including many exciting opportunities for volunteering – including career insights sessions, mentoring and judging for competitive awards.
Basis.point is the charity of the Irish funds industry and its wider ecosystem. The charity was set up in 2014, with the ambition to give every child in Ireland equal access to a brighter future through education and has committed almost €3 million to multi-year evidence based educational programmes.
Basis.point work with inspirational educators from established charity partners, delivering programmes to meet the needs of children from educationally disadvantaged communities. Their range of programmes focus not simply on the nuts and bolts of literacy and numeracy, but also on tackling the peripheral soft skills such as self- esteem, confidence, willingness to engage with authority and resilience.
Enhancing educational opportunities and achieving social change requires consistent investment and a true team effort. Link Group looks forward to building on our shared ambition and making a positive impact in the communities we operate in.
About Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Puthucode Kendra
Link Group has partnered with Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan – an institution recognised by the Government of India, as one of National Eminence, through LinkTogether For Good.
Education is one of the most important nation-building activities for India. Over one-third of all children drop out before completing elementary education. Of these, the majority are girls from deprived and marginalised families. In Mumbai city itself, more than 1.3 million girls are deprived of their fundamental right to education.
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan was founded in 1938 by Mr. K.M. Munshi, an ardent follower of Mahatma Gandhi. The Bhavan, operates through local centres, called Kendras (the Sanskrit word for centres), which is spread across India. The institution provides national standard level of education to primary & secondary students including remote village areas, where it provides quality education to economically challenged families.
The founder of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Puthucode Kendra, the late Mr. P.A. Ramakrishnan, is located in the Palakkad District of Kerala, India. Mr. Ramakrishnan started the Bhavan's school, up to primary level in October 2000. In 2008, after obtaining the affiliation of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in India, the school shifted to nearby Mannapra on a 12-acre plot and today serves about 30 villages within a radius of 10kms, catering to 1100 students. These are predominantly agricultural villages and the population consists of mainly lower income groups. Thus, Bhavans Puthucode has been able to provide a very strong learning platform to the children of this area. Besides, the school also emphasises all round development by providing a very good sports infrastructure, & nurturing talent in the fine arts.
The strong support of Link Group, will ensure that the Puthucode Kendra of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, realises many of its goals.
