My career at Link started for a very simple reason familiar to many young people - I just needed to work while I decided what I wanted to study. That was eight years ago and the role was in Link's contact centre.

Walking in that first day as a 19-year-old, I never would have dreamed what the following eight years had in store. I was given the opportunity to work in almost every role in the contact centre, giving me a great understanding of the business, the clients we serve and the importance of super to their lives.

So the passion for my job has always been there, and fortunately Link has rewarded me with one opportunity after another even when I was working part-time.

This includes subsidising my university study as I work to complete a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Business Law. It's not only the financial help though - Link has always been there for me with the flexibility I need to juggle my course with being a mum to my two beautiful young boys aged three and one.

My managers have always understood the importance of family life and the demands of being a working parent, especially one completing a demanding university course!

When I started at Link Group in 1996 there were only around 200 employees across the entire business, so it's been great to be part of the company's growth story.

What I've seen in that time is that Link has a real culture of promoting from within, and I'm an example of that. I started in the print room for our share registry business before running operations for the share registry. Then in 2009 I moved over to Link's Retirement & Superannuation Solutions division, which is where I am now in the role of Head of Operations for the Northern region based in our Rhodes office.

Making the most of opportunities is really the Link way - if you're willing to apply yourself there will be opportunities here to grow your career in ways you've probably never imagined.

When I look back at my time at Link, I know of so many colleagues who have moved into more senior roles throughout the organisation as I've done.

In some ways you could say I have a double life - professionally speaking anyway! Aside from my role at Link Group, I also have a passion for fashion styling which has been my side career for many years, culminating in me writing a book 'The Capsule Wardrobe'.

It's rare to find an organisation that supports someone in a senior role to truly follow their ambitions outside of work, but Link Group has done just that.

My leaders have always given me the time and flexibility to make the most of both of my careers, as well as being keen supporters themselves. To have that support and balance between my creative and corporate careers has been invaluable to me.

I've also been able to bring what I've learnt from the fashion business to the Link world, which has been a great bonus for all.

I actually worked at Link many years ago and then applied for a new position in 2015. The people at Link were the main drawcard for my return to the business - I saw stability, dedication and drive in the executive team that were and still are leading Link, which made it an easy decision to come back to the organisation.
